Mrs
Shirin Ebadi, the Noble Peace Prize winner, was in Paris this week, she convoyed a strong and clear message from Iranian people to the French and the world.
Her message was simple, going to war and
indiscriminately killing
hundreds of
thousands of innocent people is not a good way to promote human rights and democracy. I know that I sound naive to suggest that the wars in
Afghanistan and Iraq are really for the initially purposed suggestion, at least it was purported by the US.
But now, Mrs
Ebadi rightly feels the
responsibility to stand against the threat to the Iranian people and our country. She had this message from Iran: "I, hereby, announce on behalf of the Iranian people that if Iran comes under attack, our nation will respond to it." In my turn, I, as an Iranian, congratulate and fully support her stance.
In addition, I, hereby, have this message for the world: Iranian people care for the
welfare of their
fellow citizens and their country's national interest like
any other citizens, in the same situation, around the world.
Negotiation is the only way!
